What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies are used for everything from remembering your login state to tracking you across the web for advertising. We use them only for the bare minimum, never for tracking or advertising.
What we don't do
We don't use any third-party analytics that set cookies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, etc.). We don't use advertising networks. We don't profile you across sites. We don't share data with social networks. We don't have a "Like" or "Share" widget that sets cookies.
Functional cookies that may be set
On certain pages of this site, the following functional cookies may be set. These are necessary for the site to work and don't track you:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| cf_* | Cloudflare Turnstile | Bot protection on form pages. Set only after a Turnstile challenge runs. Expires within hours. |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare CDN | Bot management for the CDN serving the site. Necessary for security; expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. |
We use Vercel Analytics (or equivalent cookieless analytics on whichever platform we end up hosting on) which records aggregate visit counts without setting any cookies or storing personal data.
Local storage
We use a single sessionStorage key (nbai_reveal_seen) to remember that you've seen the first-visit intro animation, so it only plays once per browser tab session. This isn't a cookie, it's cleared when you close the tab.
How to disable cookies
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. If you disable Cloudflare cookies, our forms will refuse submissions because bot protection can't run. The site itself will still load.
Changes
If we ever add a cookie that isn't strictly necessary, we'll update this page and ask for your consent before setting it.
